Richard Stubbs DO, GOsC.
Richard Stubbs is a long-established registered osteopath with more than 30 years’ experience, most of which was spent working out of his practice in Marble Arch, Central London, and also working from his home in Newbury, Berkshire.
Richard’s establishing a working base in North Devon, maintaining some hands on part time work and enjoying a little golf!
In his time as an osteopath he has developed some specialist and unique approaches which have proved to be particularly effective in dealing with neck and upper back conditions. Most commonly much of this as a result of patients’ continual use of computers and mobile phones (computer neck, RSI, computer gaming injuries, Brachial Neuritis, acute Torticollis, whiplash injuries, headaches, migraines and a variety of upper back and cervical postural problems).
Over the years Richard has developed differing strategies involving treatment to the entire spine and including the lower back and referred issues in other joints of the body.
Richard can also provide a tailor made programme of exercise, customised and highly focused to the individual’s needs. Treatment is obviously important, but his overriding mantra is that once patients have an good understanding as to why their condition has developed they have a better chance of preventing a relapse in the future.
If you are reading this it is likely you have some sort of back or neck problem, so let me reassure you that most spinal issues can be effectively dealt with, with careful management and advice; even very painful conditions can be hugely improved in the first visit.
If you need treatment Richard will gladly welcome you to the Hands on Clinic and endeavour to do the very best he can for you.
