The Dorn method comes from a German healer called Dieter Dorn, who when suffering from a bad back went to the local “Bone Setter” whom cured him within 2 sessions.
Dieter Dorn practiced this technique himself in is kitchen and lounge for free, whilst maintaining his job as a farmer. Then he started to pass it on to others around him, teaching many in Germany, inc. Bridgette, whom I learned off, he sadly died a few years ago. It is now a very popular therapy in Germany that has been practiced for more that 40 years.
The Dorn method is a gentle technique which re-aligns pelvis, sacrum, spine and all other joints, with gentle movements performed by the therapist whilst the client also moves in a gentle rhythmic way. This movement by the patient allows the muscles to de distracted (relaxed) whilst the joint is gently re-positioned whilst it is moving. This makes it incredibly gentle, safe and effective.
During the treatment “selp-help” exercises are given to the patient for them to take home and practice / self treat. The aim of these are, as it takes 5-6 weeks for the body to totally re-align, is to be able re-enforce the treatment at home, Thus, if the patient practices the self help exercises it removes the need to rely on a therapist, after the second or third treatment, and will be their for all future niggles.
